The Mayor Visited Second Grade!

Several weeks ago, Hinesville's Mayor, James Thomas, Jr., came to visit second grade.  We have been learning about our local government, and it was very exciting to learn more about it!  We were surprised to learn that Hinesville has more police officers than we thought it did, and we were sad to learn that we have a lot of homeless people.  We were GLAD to learn that the mayor has a special committe to find ways to help the homeless people, though.  The mayor invited everyone to come and visit the new City Hall building, because it is a building that belongs to ALL of Hinesville's citizens!  We thought that was pretty cool.

Several artists from our class had pictures selected to be displayed in City Hall!  We're very proud of our artists.

From our class - RyAnne, LeJon, Isabella, and Grace
